BRING YOUR IDEAS TO THE CHANGING YOUR WORLD CONFERENCE 2022

Got an incredible project, idea, workshop, demonstration, creative work, presentation or panel session that you'd like to enter into the CYW Conference 2022 on the theme of Owning Our Impacts?

Here's a helpful Host Pack to show you how!

In your Host Pack you'll find all the information about the Conference, its origins and how we're going forward this year to make sure we can host a fabulous, fun, insightful and impactful conference, while also keeping our amazing sustainability superheroes and impact innovators (you!) safe and healthy.

You'll also find all the links and instructions on what you need to do in order to get your event registered as part of the Conference. It's a simple process - just a couple of easy forms to fill out and submit to us here at the City of Canning, and if we can, we'll schedule your event into the 3 day program!

These are all available in the Host Pack - but just to reiterate, here are the 4 easy steps to complete to become a speaker at the Changing Your World Conference 2022. DEADLINE - April 7, 2022.

Not Sure What to Submit?

Although the Conference is virtual this year - that doesn't mean there's no room for creativity! We're keen to host all kinds of events - from music and arts performances, to workshops and practical demonstrations, to facilitated panels and debates, to case studies and academic presentations, to podcasts and interviews... and everything in between!

So, as long as you're responding to the overall conference theme of 'Owning Your Impacts', and you believe that you can use an online system through which to communicate that creative response - go wild!

Some people have asked for tips on what kinds of approaches we'd like to see as conference convenors. So, while we don't want to curtail creativity, we've prepared a document with some 'inspiration question' ideas that might help fuel your thinking.

Once your event has been uploaded by the Sustainability Team to our Virtual Conference Portal, you'll receive an email, sharing your Host links and login details!

This will give you the date, time and event information - and the details you will need to be able to host your online presentation or event through the Conference Portal. You'll also be able to make sure all of your information is correct, and let us know if you need any changes made.

If your presentation is pre-recorded, or if you're keen to participate in one of three 'Live from Hillview' livestreamed panel sessions, please let us know and we'll communicate with you on how to facilitate this.

We'll also be hosting an online 'Troubleshooting and FAQ session' for event hosts prior to the conference, so that you can ask any burning questions you may have about how to host your event.

You'll be in incredible company, as we have some very special VIP speakers joining us online this year including Dr Josh Byrne from Gardening Australia; Stephanie Alexander from the Kitchen Garden Foundation; Clementine Ford, bestselling author of Fight like a Girl and Boys will be Boys; Natalie Isaacs, Founder of One Million Women; and, Professor Kate Auty from the University of Melbourne and the Urban Climate Change Research Network... and there are more incredible icons of sustainability joining every day!

The Deadline!

We're able to accommodate a few more amazing speakers in our Conference this year, owing to its virtual nature, but we do still need to get our program locked down in the next couple of weeks! So don't forget that the deadline for speakers is FRIDAY APRIL 8.

This is the last day we will be accepting new speakers, and slots are filling fast - so get your event in to us as soon as you can, to avoid disappointment!
